7.0 CAM module : exercise level 2As you have already done exercise level 1; here,
we don’t go into manipulation details .

After clicking on the icon «CAM» from the CAD
module, your drawing is deprived of its attributes of : color, thickness,
dotted lines, etc. In fact, they are no longer useful in CAM because the
aim now is to perform a tool paths.
The window «dimension, material type and
machining origin» remind you the volume that you had parametrized into
drawing. Before validating this window you have to choose the material
family that will be attributed to your part.

Click on the arrow to get the list of materials
available and select the material family that you will use to machine this
part (for this example, select «hard plastic»).
Keep the dimensions and origin as defined in
default.
Validate with the button «OK».
Now, we are going to parametrize machining.
In exercise N°1 you discovered CAM selection
modes ; we will not go back to these.
Select in drawing mode the whole drawing.
The whole drawing is now in bold, it is,
therefore, selected.
Click on the right mouse button in order to
open the contextual menu, then open the menu «describe the machining».
Select « milling tools « then «double-edged
tool D = 2 mm».
Validate the window with the button «Following».

In the following window, fill in the field «machining
depth» by clicking on «cutting» in order to automatically attribute the
total thickness of the raw.
Then click on the button «surrounding» then
on «outside» . Consequently, the tool will move to the outside of the
contour and each part will then have the exact dimensions of the drawing.
Click on the button «Following» :
The following window gives the calculation
results of the machining experts. These values will be automatically
applied for this sequence.
Validate this window with the button
«finish».

The machining parametrizations are now finished
; you can then proceed to the controls and simulations before starting the
machining.
As for the exercise N° 1, check the machining
report then carry out the simulations.
Also, you are going to view the machining
sequences and modify them, if necessary.

One
these controls are performed, you can start the machining by using exactly
the same procedure as for exercise N°1 (for this exercise, there is no
change of tools, the same tool for the whole machining).
