Principle for drawing a delimited flat surfaceA delimited flat surface is a surface created
inside a closed and joined contour which can be directed in all planes. To
create a delimited flat surface, just select a closed contour, join it
then click on : " delimited flat surface " so that the surface
is created.
Attention: a delimited flat surface is
not visible if the " realistic rendering " mode is not activated.
If one or more closed and joined contours are inside and are selected at
the same time, they will be avoided by the surface. On the other hand if
some contours are in intersection, the surface will not be created and an
error message will warn the operator.
Example of a delimited flat surface:
Create a rectangular contour with rounded
corners (the dimensions are of no importance) and draw two circles inside.
Select all of the coutours and join them.

Then click on the " delimited flat surface
" icon
The surface is created and is visible in
realistic rendering on the perspective view.
Activate the realistic rendering in the
principal view (XY)
This flat surface can be manipulated in all the
views like any other surface.

With
these techniques you can make as many surfaces as you wish, they can
interlock with each other automatically creating the intersection
contours. You cannot act directly on the surfaces, in the event of
modifications; delete the surface(s) then modify the profiles, guide
curves or contours and regenerate the surfaces. If you use the Charlygraal
CAM 3D module you can generate tool paths on all the surfaces visible and
accessible in top view. The Charlygraal 3D CAD is a simple surface
software program that does not carry out any Boolean operations.
